About The Phone Co-op

We are
a backhaul provider to many networks (e.g. 3-C, Oxfordshire Rural
Broadband, Alston Cybermoor), delivered over leased line or ADSL. We
can also provide a fully branded 'virtual ISP', with e-mail and web
hosting services. As a customer owned co-operative, our values dovetail
with those of community owned groups, who themselves are predominantly
organised as co-operatives or mutuals. We can also offer telephone
services on an affinity basis, which provide a fund raising opportunity
for our partners.
The telecoms market is rapidly changing and The Phone Co-op is
firmly positioned at the innovative end of the spectrum, with new
products and services in development with our partners. For example, we
are currently trialling a VOIP service with Cybermoor.
As a consumer co-operative, our customers can become members for a minimum £1 share. Profits are shared out through a dividend based on spend, In addition we allocate a portion of profits earned to our Co-operative and Social Economy Development Fund, which is available to new and expanding co-operatives, and has already been used to assist community broadband start-ups.
