Business Link York and North Yorkshire are administering a grant on behalf of Yorkshire Forward which allows any business within the region to apply for a £300 grant for a broadband connection.
There are several criteria to be met, but the best bit is that this money does not have to be spent on ADSL. Several businesses within a town or village can all apply for the grant and use the money to set up a Community network, for instance, using the "10 and you're there" satellite/wireless model.
Criteria:
- The business must not have a broadband Internet connection already (greater than 256kbps)
- Your business must have been trading for at least 2 months
- Your business must be independently owned
- You normally employ less than 250 employees
- Your business must not have been a member of Yorkshire Forward's Insight programme
