July 12th - Broadband in the Dales

A meeting of 50+ in Tennant's Auctioneers, Leyburn. Bringing together County, District and Parish Councils, Yorkshire Forward, local businesses, health and education representatives, Local Govt Office, Countryside Agency and more to discuss the importance of broadband and the options available in rural areas.

November 5th - Rural Broadband 1

A conference with 70+ people travelling the length and breadth of the country to hear about rural broadband issues and options. Keynote speaker - Mike Buhagiar, BT. The first time we publicly showed a LocustWorld Mesh working, although it was a mesh of one due to the scarcity of MeshBoxes at that time! 

November 18th & 19th - Broadband Communities Showcase

During the first Broadband Stakeholders Group conference in Birmingham, the Association of Broadband Communities (which a year later became CBN) ran the Broadband Communities Showcase in the main exhibition hall. Those involved were Cybermoor, Carnet, Buckfastleigh, Edenfaster, and Arwain. Lindsey Annison spoke in the main conference - the infamous "C'mon on baby light my fibre" speech - as did Erol Ziya and John Wilson.  A month later, the Access to Broadband Campaign was officially launched by John, Erol, Lindsey and Charlie Sands.
